Travel from the beautiful Coromandel (3 hours) back to Auckland.


Day 8: Bay of Islands - Boat Experience

Accommodation: Paihia, Bay of IslandsTravel 3 hours north of Auckland with 2 nights accommodation in Paihia.

  • Boat Experience “Hole in the Rock”: Experience the sights of dolphins in the sea. Cruise out through the Bay’s pristine islands and along the Cape Brett Peninsula. See the historic Cape Brett lighthouse and majestic Motukōkako, the Hole in the Rock, and hope for a lucky drip from above as you pass underneath it. The Bay of Islands is home to a host of marine mammals, wildlife and native birds. Keep an eye out for dolphins throughout your cruise. Stop off at Otehei Bay on Urupukapuka Island where you have time to relax, take a walk, have a swim or enjoy a bite to eat and drink from the on-site fully licensed café.


Day 9: Russell - Historical and Leisure Activities

Visit the beach town of Russell, taking the ferry boat across from Paihia to Russell. Russell, also known by the Maori name Kororareka, is a town in the Bay of Islands, in New Zealand's far north. It was the first permanent European settlement and seaport in New Zealand.

  • Golf or Leisure: There’s an option to play golf in the afternoon at the Waitangi Golf Course (9 holes) overlooking the natural bush and sea at its finest or just relax and do some shopping in the town of Paihia.
